Yahoo in marketing trial with Proctor & Gamble
Yahoo will expand its relationship with P&G by launching a series of sites sponsored exclusively by the latter's household products.

The partnership will feature a number of "microsites" sponsored by a Procter & Gamble product, according to Jeff Mallett, president of Yahoo. These sites will feature links to Yahoo content and other software features.

One site, "pampers.yahoo.com," is a parenting guide sponsored by the company's diaper division. It will contain editorial content and links to other Yahoo features, such as clubs, chat rooms, home pages, and its instant messenger client. News.com

Filmmaker captures Web 'voyeurism'
Fascinated by the way everyday people were eagerly sharing details of their personal lives with the world, Doug Block, a New York filmmaker, decided in 1996 to document the phenomenon. «Home Page» will be aired on HBO TV in the US July 4.

But his project doesn't end there. Block found himself wanting to be part of the self-revelatory trend he was observing. So he created a home page and began chronicling the making of his movie -- and publicly probing his own motivations for being on the Web.

The result is a personal odyssey that also captures a fleeting, idealistic moment in the early life of the Web, before corporate takeovers and invasive marketing stole the show. USA Today
