Virus links e-mail to porn sites
A new virus that appears in e-mail files with the subject line "Check this" creates links to adult Web sites, then searches through an infected system's address book and automatically sends the e-mail to those names. It isn't known how many PCs have been infected with the virus. CNN
More Melissa variants hit
The Melissa virus, which first struck in March, is continuing to mutate into new forms. Two more - Melissa U and Melissa V - were discovered this week by virus firms. Both have more destructive payloads than their original namesake.
Melissa V attempts to trick victims into opening it by arriving with a personalized subject line: “My pictures”Melissa U, discovered a few days earlier, contains the subject line “pictures,” followed by the sender’s user name. MSNBCY2K
