NBC launches Internet company
NBC is taking its biggest step into the online world yet, forming a new integrated company offering a Web portal, shopping opportunities and entertainment from its TV shows. The new venture, NBC, was officially launched Tuesday and combines several of the network's Web sites with those of the full-service Snap portal site and e-commerce expertise from the startup company Xoom.com.
