AOL and Time Warner Gain Approval for Huge Deal, but With Strict Conditions
The Federal Trade Commission approved the proposed merger of America Online and Time Warner on Thursday, clearing the way for the creation of the world's biggest media business. Approval came after the companies agreed to strict conditions. NY Times



BT's Hyperlink Patent [Contd]
BT launches US hyperlinks legal action
BT - which owns patent 4,873,662 to hypertext links - has begun its legal fight to claim back millions of dollars in licensing revenue from US ISPs. Intellectual property attorneys, Kenyon & Kenyon November 14, filed a case on behalf of BT against Prodigy Communications Corp in New York State. If BT wins this test case it would open the doors to a massive claim from BT for revenues. The Register
