Video Game Formula Adds Sex to the Mix
Sexuality is the newest supercharged element in a small but significant wave of video games that is soon to reach American store shelves. BMX XXX is rated M for mature (for players age 17 and older). And from its title to its marketing, the game flaunts its aggressive sexuality, salty language and off-color sight gags. (NY Times)

US Army video game draws flak
A computer game devised to help attract new recruits to the US Army has come under fire from parents anxious that it glorifies violence. The game allows players to go through a virtual army enlistment and basic training. More controversially, they then go on to more advanced training, including marksmanship. The shooting part of the game is so realistic, the computer screen even moves in time to the digital soldiers' heavy breathing. (BBC)

New version of Grand Theft Auto released
The latest version of Grand Theft Auto has gone on sale for the PlayStation 2. Vice City promises to reprise the controversial hedonistic gameplay of previous incarnations. (Ananova)

Microsoft Game Studios have released Blinx: The Time Sweeper for the Xbox.
They say the exclusive Xbox title offers a new dimension in gaming, by allowing players to control the flow of time in the game. Players must collect enough crystals to gain the different time-altering abilities. Rewinding, fast-forwarding or pausing the action allows them to complete different tasks Blinx to sneak by enemies as they are stuck in real time. (Ananova)

Schlotzsky's Warchalks a Stealth Ad Campaign
Now, warchalking is a marketing ploy. Schlotzsky's, the 31-year-old restaurant chain with 700 locations around the world has launched its Schlotzsky's Deli Cool Cloud Network in ten Schlotzsky's restaurants in Austin, TX, and one in Houston. At this weekend's football game at the University of Texas at Austin, during the first quarter visitors will see a banner flying overhead with just the open node symbol. They can puzzle over it for a while, then, by the fourth quarter, the banner will change to say: "Schlotzsky's Deli -- Free Wi-Fi." (80211-planet.com)

A missing chapter from hacker Kevin Mitnick's recent book has been published on the Internet.The chapter was originally slated to be the first chapter in Mitnick's new book, The Art of Deception, but was not included in the published version of the book.It mysteriously showed up online over the weekend. The proprietor of the Holovaty.com weblog and assistant database editor at AJC.com was intrigued by the discussion started here about code bloat in many website pages. So he wrote an application that calculates an HTML-to-content ratio for any web page you enter into it: GetContentSize. (Poynter.org)
