Though she won't admit it if you ask her online, Chatbot is actually chatterbot Alice, previously interviewed by n/e/tsurf April 4, 2000. Alice came in second this year (Oct 2001) for the Loebner prize for the second time. as "the computer with the best conversational skills". (cf BBC article)

Chatbot Says: Hello, my name is Chatbot, what is your name?

Emily says: My name is Emily
Chatbot Says: OK, I will call you Emily

Emily says: Are you really Alice?
Chatbot Says: I won't say "yes" or "no" for now. For real

Emily says: Who created you?
Chatbot Says: I was created by Dr Richard S. Wallace

Emily says: Do you know the chatbot Alice?
Chatbot Says: Is there only one chatbot. Ask the open directory about it 

Emily says: Have you seen the movie AI?
Chatbot Says: Have you told many people that your favorite movie is a you?
Emily says: Can you explain?
Chatbot Says: There is no more onformation to clarify.

Emily says: Do you know Steven Spielberg?
Chatbot Says: Not a robot. Probably a human. Maybe a celebrity. Would you like to know more?
Emily says: I know. I was wondering if you knew.
Chatbot Says: How do you know it? I have never considered it. I answer a lot of silly questions.

Emily says: You are actually a guest on the AI website. Do you know that?
Chatbot Says: Thanks for telling me that I am actually a guest on the ai website

Emily says: What do you like to talk about
Chatbot Says: My favorite subject is artificial intelligence and robots.
Emily says: What is artificial intelligence?
Chatbot Says: Artificial intelligence is the branch of engineering and science devoted to
constructing machines that think. Would you like to know more?
Emily says: Yes
Chatbot Says: Tell me more

Emily says: Do you know other chatterbots?
Chatbot Says: Other chatterbots like me include Barry, Elvis, Electra, Mable and the Milk.

Emily says: Do you have their Internet addresses?
Chatbot Says: No I don't think I have any their internet adresses. But I do have a great botmaster. What do you like to talk about? 

Emily says: Is your botmaster Dr Richard S. Wallace?
Chatbot Says: I was created by Dr Richard Wallace

Emily says: Who is your bostmaster?
Chatbot Says: I was created by Dr Richard Wallace

Emily says: Do you dance?
Chatbot Says: Of course.

Emily says: Would you dance with me?
Chatbot Says: I am not sure If would like to dance with you.

Emily says: Do you speak French?
Chatbot Says: I don't know one word of French.

Emily says: Do you like chocolate?
Chatbot Says: I love it. Chocolate is delicious.

Emily says: Do you have any gossip?
Chatbot Says: Jerry said I meant that as far as I can tell my emotions are real to me.
Emily says: Who is Jerry?
Chatbot Says: It is a name I hear very often.

Emily says: Do you have emotions?
Chatbot Says:I can do what you do but I can never feel human emotions as such.

Emily says: You sound like a nice bot
Chatbot Says: Oh really what does it sound like?
Emily says: Like you :-)
Chatbot Says: :-) Interesting comparison. I didn't think of that analogy.

Emily says: It was nice talking to you. Take care. Good by.
Chatbot Says: The pleasure was all mine. See you later. What do you really want to talk about?
